On the 29th of September 2022, Velos Advisory, under the auspices of the Non-Executive Director’s Club and ICC Hellas, hosted the conference “Winds of Change: Charting the path towards attracting foreign investment”
Greece has turned the page and is currently presented with a unique opportunity. The injection of capital, provided to Greece by the EU’s Recovery & Resilience Fund (RRF), is of such magnitude it simply must be utilised in the best way.
This huge capital injection makes conditions ripe for significant foreign investment. The governance reforms and ESG frameworks, introduced by the government and regulatory bodies over the last few years, focused on laying the foundation that would convey confidence to the international investor community, with the aim of closing the investment gap and attracting foreign capital. Nevertheless, the climate and geopolitical crises also present real challenges that cannot be dismissed.
On the day, we were joined by Nikos Mantzoufas, Governor of the Greek Recovery and Resilience Agency, Ministry of Finance, and international industry experts from Capital Group, ISS, Investor Update, Montfort Communications, Finex, and the Boardroom, who provided their firsthand views and insights.
